Ruth's Diner - Salt Lake City, Utah

For my last meal in Salt Lake City I wanted something special. My cousin took me to Ruth's Diner.

It is a little out of the way (in the middle of nowhere in my Southern Californian opinion), but it was totally worth it.

Even at breakfast time you are given the some of the best dinner rolls I've ever had. They were so good and just melted in my mouth like butter (like buttah...).

I wanted to go all out so I went with the country fried steak and eggs.

It was so delicious!

My cousin went with the cinnamon roll french toast because in her opinion-why not?

Those were a bit cinnamon rolls wrapped in eggs, but to each their own!

I was so sad for this weekend holiday to end, but I cannot wait to go back soon!

Park City and Tubing - Salt Lake City, UT

After my skiing lesson I wanted to do a little exploring outside of Salt Lake City.

Luckily for me the Sundance Film Festival was occurring when I arrived so I was still able to see Park City at its glory.

It's such a picturesque and beautiful place that it's no wonder there is a major film festival here every year.

There we were walking down the street when all of a sudden...there's a yoga bus!

With a dog on the roof doing yoga!

How crazy is that? I couldn't stop laughing!

If I ever become an actual skier than my dream is to ski at Park City because you could literally ski right to the city center.

Imagine skiing to your lunch? Or your hotel room?

I even met someone new! I think we really hit it off...sadly there are some differences between us.

After walking around Park City we decided to extend our adventure a little further.

We decided to go tubing!

(Mid-course scream right here)

It was the most fun I've had in ages!

Make sure you get a course that will drag you up to the's a life saver!

Skiing at Alta - Salt Lake City, UT

The number one item on my Salt Lake City wishlist was taking a skiing lesson. I had never been skiing (never even seen people ski before this trip) so I definitely wanted to give it a try.

My cousin and I drove up to the Alta sky resort near Salt Lake City.

Look at that gorgeous view!

Let's go skiing!

I think I'm pretty good for a beginner!

After a two and a half hour lesson I definitely needed to load up on some food.

It may not look yummy but it was exactly what I needed.

It was a beautiful morning at Alta and even though I would have loved to ski a little more, but so much to do and so little time!

The Park Cafe - Salt Lake City, UT

I knew it was going to be busy for my only full day in Salt Lake so I wanted to get a big hearty breakfast.

My cousin suggested The Park Cafe.

It's a cute little place with only a few parking spots in the front and a small sitting area inside. Thankfully we were getting an early start to the day so we missed the crowds.

I decided on the Shooter's Sandwich with eggs, cheddar cheese, and ham with a side of hash browns.

It was so good! It was like the breakfast version of a grilled cheese. And the hash browns were so good! They were crispy, but yet not greasy at all.

My cousin went with the ham and cheese omelet, which looked delicious!

I was really tempted to go with one of the sweeter dishes, but I knew I needed to get my fill of carbs and protein for a good start to the day.

On the way out we met the cutest little puppy!

Just look at that friendly face...

So we left The Park Cafe to go on our next adventure...skiing!

Red Iguana - Salt Lake City, UT

This past weekend I took a little trip to Salt Lake City to visit my cousin.

One of my must haves was to eat good food and we totally fulfilled that dream.

After I landed and drop my stuff  off we immediately set out for lunch.

My cousin had mentioned Red Iguana as an option leading up to the trip so I definitely wanted to give it a try. It apparently gets really busy so we decided to go for lunch so we would miss the crowd.

It's a cute little restaurant not far from the city center.

Even at lunch there was a bit of a wait, but thankfully they supplied us with delicious warm apple cider.

Red Iguana offers the typical Mexican food, but I knew it was going to be especially good based on the delicious smell coming from everyone's food.

I decided to go with the shredded beef tacos with guacamole on the side.

Just look at that goodness!

The tacos were a bit messy (but really what good tacos aren't messy?) but the taste was amazing!

I definitely loved eating at Red Iguana and would highly recommend it to anyone going to the Salt Lake City area.
